The Hong Kong headquarters better serves the needs of its customers throughout the Asia Pacific region.

GT Solar has been doing business in Asia since 2002. Since then the company has played an important role as an equipment provider, to helping the region’s early adopters establish their PV and polysilicon manufacturing operations. Today, many of these companies have grown to become some of the region’s largest solar manufacturers in China, Korea, and Taiwan, and are using GT Solar products and technologies to improve productivity and lower their cost of manufacturing.
In September of 2009, the company opened its facility in Shanghai, China to provide greater service and support to its growing customer base in the region. The Shanghai facility will continue to provide installation resources, demonstration capabilities for customers wishing to test new process recipes, product training and spare parts inventory. PV equipment product development, engineering and R&D will remain in the company’s corporate headquarters in Merrimack, New Hampshire, and product development, engineering and R&D for its polysilicon equipment will remain in Missoula, Montana.
GT Solar also announced that its next DSS crystalline growth furnace, the DSS650, has begun beta production evaluation with customers. The new system provides an upgrade path for current customers using DSS 240, DSS450 and DSS450HP systems in their production environment.
The DSS650 is capable of producing ingots larger than 600 kilograms and is compatible with the chamber configuration of current DSS systems. Commercial availability of the new system is expected for early calendar year 2011.

CVD Equipment receives $3.4 million order for solar production tools
RONKONKOMA, CVD Equipment Corp. has received an initial order for $3.4 million from a solar panel manufacturer to provide deposition production tools for their solar factory. Ascent Solar becomes first CIGS flexible monolithically integrated module maker to achieve external IEC 61646 certification
THORNTON, USA: Ascent Solar Technologies Inc., a developer of state of the art flexible thin-film solar modules, has become the first manufacturer of thin-film flexible monolithically integrated CIGS modules to receive full IEC 61646 certification upon completion of environmental testing.
The environmental testing of Ascent Solar modules for this paramount milestone was conducted by an independent laboratory under the requirements of IEC 61646 standards. The Ascent Solar modules successfully passed the complete battery of tests required including the rigorous standard of one thousand (1,000) hours of damp heat testing (85 percent relative humidity and 85° C temperature) set forth by IEC for performance and long term reliability.
Becoming the first high power flexible CIGS module manufacturer to complete certification now opens the door for an aggressive push into building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) and building applied photovoltaic (BAPV) applications for use in commercial, industrial and residential rooftop markets. Solar Energy Initiatives announces completion of 2.5 MWs of PPAs
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, USA: Solar Energy Initiatives Inc., with businesses in solar project development, distribution and workforce training, has signed three Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) to build 2.5 MWs of projects with municipal and institutional clients.
Under the completed agreements, TVA has agreed to purchase all of the power the systems produce, as well as the associated environmental benefits. Solar Energy Initiatives, Inc. will lead the project development effort, including system design, installation and operation of the proposed 2.5 megawatts (MW) of photovoltaic (PV) systems on the sites.
The Company anticipates that the projects will break ground in the first quarter of 2011, with completion scheduled sometime in the summer of 2011. The projects are expected to generate approximately $10,000,000 in revenue.
"This announcement marks yet another success for the project development team at SNRY," stated David Fann, CEO of Solar Energy Initiatives. "Our ability to quickly secure these opportunities is the result of diligent preparation on the part of our management team. Our sales pipeline continues to grow and we are poised to execute on these opportunities for the benefit of our shareholders."

SANYO solar modules provide renewable power to select IKEA stores in Canada

The SANYO rooftop PV systems at IKEA stores in Etobicoke, North York and Vaughan together will have a capacity of 750kW, which is the approximate equivalent of what is needed to power 100 average Ontario homes.
IKEA Canada will be the first retailer to exclusively own, install and operate what is expected to be the largest rooftop solar panel networks in Ontario under the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) program. The systems, installed by AMP Solar Group, will be completed and fully operational by the end of December 2010.
IKEA Canada launched this solar initiative at its Etobicoke store on October 7, 2010 in a ceremony attended by the Honourable Brad Duguid, Ontario Minister of Energy; and the Honourable Laurel Broten, Minister of Children and Youth Services and Minister Responsible for Women's Issues and MPP for Etobicoke-Lakeshore.
Other project participants included the Ontario Power Authority and two major local distribution companies, Toronto Hydro and PowerStream.
