Solargiga 300kW PV pilot project commences power generation

HONG KONG, CHINA: China monocrystalline silicon solar ingots and wafer manufacturer, Solargiga Energy announced that its 300kW photovoltaic pilot project has commenced power generation successfully, which is as another significant corporate development of the Group subsequent to achieving turnaround in net profit with a profit margin of over 17 percent in the third quarter of 2009.

Capitalizing on its advanced and proprietary know-how on the manufacturing of high conversion and quality ingots and wafers, the Group has succeed in obtaining the critical techniques in the manufacturing of terrestrial BIPV power generating system, BIPV system, solar roof BIPV system, thin film BIPV system and solar road lighting, marking an important step to diversifying into downstream business.

Located in Binhai New District, Jinzhou, this photovoltaic pilot project is constructed by Jinzhou Jinmao Photovoltaic Technology Co., Ltd, a subsidiary of Solargiga.

It is also regarded as the first photovoltaic project in Liaoning Province and has earned the support of relevant government departments in the provincial and municipal levels. An opening ceremony was held on 3 November with numerous government officials presented to witness this notable event.

Commencing the construction in July 2009, the 300kW photovoltaic project was completed in October 2009 with an annual power generating capacity of 420,000kWh. The project is expected to reduce coal consumption and carbon dioxide emission by approximately 130 tonnes and 252 tonnes respectively.

With a total floor area of 9,045 square meters, this project comprises various photovoltaic modules, including terrestrial BIPV power generating system, BIPV system, solar roof BIPV system, thin film BIPV system and solar road lighting. The total investment of the project is amounted to RMB12 million.
