Spire announces PV module testing service for solar systems installers

BEDFORD, USA: Spire Corp., a global solar company providing capital equipment and turn-key manufacturing lines to produce photovoltaic (PV) modules, announced that it is making its world class simulation facilities and expertise available to PV system installers on a customer service basis.

Spire is the world leader in providing solar simulation test facilities to the PV industry through more than 30 test facilities and hundreds of manufacturers.

Currently, Spire operates an Advanced Technology Center, which supports material developers, module manufacturers, and research groups in an effort to advance their technology. In addition, for a complete module assembly line, the facility also utilizes Spire’s Spi-Sun Simulator 4600SLP for the testing of system integrator modules. These system integrators send modules directly to Spire for analysis and timely turnaround characterization.

Spire’s measurements will insure that the PV module product that they have procured for their system meets their requirements. Spire also has the capability to transport its test facility to the systems site, if necessary.

“We are pleased to bring our module and simulator test expertise to system integrators. Dead-on accuracy of module performance is required to optimize system design and maximize the return on investment for power purchase providers,” said Roger G. Little, chairman and CEO of Spire.
