BRANCHBURG, USA: Noveda Technologies, a leader in web-based real-time energy monitoring systems, will be providing monitoring and hosting services for PSE&G's solar programs.
Under the contract, Noveda will provide the hardware, software and operational support services required to enable PSE&G to continuously monitor the performance of all its solar system assets.
Specifically, Noveda will provide PSE&G with SunFlow Monitor along with an operations portal that will enable users to view and monitor all the various solar installations in the state from one system. Noveda's innovative Operations Portal integrates the various elements of real-time remote monitoring with enhanced multi-site operational links that will allow PSE&G to proactively manage its entire solar installation portfolio from a single "operations center."
The Noveda Operations Portal provides a full project life-cycle window into the installation progress, real-time commissioning and performance tracking of each solar installation. Combined with Noveda's high definition kiosk displays, operators can easily manage hundreds of installations from the operations center.
PSE&G plans to install 80 MW of solar capacity in New Jersey, including 200,000 pole-mounted systems, which is the largest of its kind in the world. PSE&G expects to have a significant part of the capacity installed by 2013. These solar units are connected directly into PSE&G's electric distribution system and the power will be sold into the PJM wholesale grid providing value to its customers.
Govi Rao, CEO of Noveda Technologies said: "This is a very prestigious contract for us and we are excited to be selected to work with the nation's leading utility company in this rapidly emerging space."
He added: "PSE&G's leadership in renewable energy gives us an opportunity to leverage our core technology and innovation. This approach to use real-time monitoring technology is another example of PSE&G's proactive strategy to build a robust renewable energy portfolio."
"PSE&G is keen on fostering innovation through partnerships and this contract with Noveda is yet another example of this approach," said Al Matos, vice president for renewables and energy solutions.
"Noveda's technology will enable us to continuously monitor the increasing number of solar installations and proactively provide operational and maintenance support, thus increasing the reliability of this clean distributed generation resource."
The first project under the contract is expected to go live in the next two weeks.
