Amtech announces $6 million in solar orders

TEMPE, USA: Amtech Systems Inc., a global supplier of production and automation systems and related supplies for the manufacture of solar cells, semiconductors, and silicon wafers, announced that its solar subsidiary, Tempress Systems Inc., has received approximately $6 million in solar orders for its diffusion processing systems from two new customers in Asia.

The orders are for multiple systems to each customer and are expected to ship within the next six to nine months.

Whang, President and Chief Executive Officer of Amtech, commented: “We are pleased to further expand our global solar customer base with these two new customer orders, which demonstrate the continued acceptance and demand for our solar products we are seeing despite these difficult economic times.
