Now, solar powered ferries for Hong Kong

HONG KONG: Great! This is something that has probably been waiting to happen for some time! From various news reports, it is evident that Hong Kong, a place where I lived for so long, is all set to get its first solar powered ferries.Source: Solar Sailors Holdings Ltd

According to published reports, these solar powered ferries have been designed by Sydney, Australia-based Solar Sailor Holdings Ltd. The famous Hong Kong Jockey Club had ordered for these ferries last July. These will be used for services between the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course and Sai Kung pier.

According to Solar Sailor's web site, 24-meter Catamaran ferries are bound for the Hong Kong Jockey Club.

Bloomberg has reported that four solar-powered ferries will begin sailing routes across Hong Kong’s harbor in November.

Well, I can't wait to have a ride from Sai Kung to the Kau Sai Chau Public Golf Course, the next time I am in Hong Kong. Kudos to Hong Kong Jockey Club and to the great city called Hong Kong, which is also a second home for me!
