S-Energy to target US market with 9MW scale agreement

CALIFORNIA, USA: S-Energy has signed an agreement with Cenergy Power, project developer, for developing jointly 9MW scale photovoltaic complex in California, USA. Under this agreement, both parties will begin construction in this September 2011 and complete by next March 2012.

S-Energy will be the first Korean photovoltaic module and system producer who can develop and operate solar power plant in the US by themselves. S-Energy has already set up the US subsidiary last march in California in order to enter the North American market.

Starting this project, S-Energy is targeting to build total 120MW of solar power plants in the US market until next year. The US market grows steadily while European countries have few demands for PV due to the policy decision delayed, explained this company.

Based on establishing horizontal integration in the procurement structure, S-Energy has stably secured upstream materials and significantly lowers manufacturing cost, said Lee Yong Ho, vice president. S-Energy entered the market with 10~20mW scale business, but will do another large scale business with up-stream and big construction companies soon.
