New management at Solarschmiede

MUNICH, GERMANY: The software company Solarschmiede GmbH has three new managing directors: Rudi Haas, Harald Zeich and Felix Schneider will be leading the Munich-based solar company. The new management has long-term experience from both photovoltaics and software development.

Taking over the engineering department is Rudi Haas, who was instrumental in setting it up in the last few years. Besides providing yield reports, the department offers quality assurance for solar power plants and can expertly support customers in every phase of plant development.

The future leader of the software department, Harald Zeich, was previously active as a developer and project leader at Solarschmiede. His department develops individual software and license programmes to plan solar energy systems.

Felix Schneider, sales director of the Munich-based company since 2009, will become head of management and thus stands shoulder-to-shoulder between the software and engineering departments.

Expanding portfolio internationally
The change represents a logical step for the continued expansion of Solarschmiede, whose business fields have developed very positively in the last few years. Thanks to its sustainable growth, Solarschmiede plans to expand its portfolio; this includes services in every step of a solar plant’s life cycle – from yield reports to commissioning with thermography to performance assessments.

In particular, sales will become international for custom software and licensing programmes. For this purpose, Solarschmiede will be exporting its services and software solutions not only to Europe, but also to China, India and the USA.
The previous managing directors and company founders Mike Zehner and Nicolas Karg will remain with the company. They are resigning in order to dedicate themselves completely to software development and the scientific fields of photovoltaics at Solarschmiede.
