2012 International CES, NEWPORT BEACH, USA: Mindspeed Technologies Inc. will jointly demonstrate smart energy solutions with Rockethome, at the 2012 International CES trade show, that combine intelligent metering and home management capabilities on a single, integrated platform powered by Mindspeed’s Comcerto 1000 embedded packet processors.
“Smart energy metering and management is one of many exciting new rapidly emerging value-added services for the connected home, and will substantially enhance the comfort and efficiency of consumer residences,” said Laurent Hendrichs, senior product line manager, for customer premises equipment (CPE) marketing and product management at Mindspeed. “Our joint CES 2012 demonstration will showcase the convenience and simplicity of Rockethome’s integrated solution, delivered on a next-generation OSGi-gateway platform that features the performance, power efficiency and carrier-class quality and reliability of Mindspeed’s Comcerto 1000 multi-core embedded packet processors.”
Rockethome’s smart energy solutions combine intelligent metering and management with powerful web-based control and data analysis tools so that consumers can continuously assess and optimize their home environment for comfort and efficiency. Mindspeed’s Comcerto 1000 processor, powered by ProSyst’s Open Services Gateway initiative (OSGi) software, enables the Rockethome User Engagement Platform to interpret, visualize and control a variety of smart home and smart metering capabilities and applications.
Users can link home appliances and multimedia equipment both inside the home and over the Internet, and then control and automate functions while measuring usage and efficiency in a single, holistic application. The Rockethome software demonstrated at CES also integrates a home security management suite, in the same user-friendly application.
