GERMANY: As part of the leading New Energy Husum trade fair, Messe Husum will be staging a storage forum in Husum on 22 March for regional energy suppliers and renewable energy industry specialists.
The trade fair organisers are staging the five-hour event in association with the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IHK) and the Schleswig-Holstein Energy and Water Resources Management Association (VSHEW). The number of places is limited, and the closing date for registrations is 18 March. Attendance of the forum is free for those who have registered.
Storage is key to energy transition
"The success of the energy transition is chiefly dependent on further development of storage technology”, says Peter Becker, managing director of Messe Husum & Congress. “We are pleased that, along with our associates, we were able to put an interesting programme together in which experts from Germany and Denmark can explain the current state of a great variety of storage technologies, and future developments.”
“The new storage technologies make it possible to adjust the imbalances between the generation and the use of renewably generated electricity”, explains Dr Dieter Perdelwitz, MD, VSHEW. “As power generation is becoming increasingly decentralised, this topic is gaining in importance for us as representatives of medium-sized municipal and communal utility companies.”
