Martifer Solar awarded $3 million in NYSERDA funding

NEW YORK, USA: Martifer Solar USA Inc. is the recipient of a nearly $3 million funding block from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) as part of the Authority’s Solar Electric Incentive Program. The company, whose East Coast division is headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut, plans to leverage the funds to enter the increasingly active New York solar market.

NYSERDA allocated a total of $30 million in grant money to eligible solar contractors through a highly competitive grant process. Martifer Solar USA, Inc. was selected on the basis of its proven competence and professional qualifications, as well as its ability to deliver a high value and cost-effective use of State funding.

“We are pleased to enter the New York market on such solid footing,” states George B. Reed III, chief legal officer and manager of Martifer Solar USA’s East Coast division. “These funds will offset up to half of the system installation cost for our clients. Combined with the New York state property tax exemption and federal incentives, it creates highly favorable conditions for commercial property owners in New York City who have been waiting for the right opportunity to go solar.”
